Who I am

I have called many places around Canada (and South Korea) home. Currently, home is in Chase, B.C., Canada.

One of my favourite opportunities here was building and caring for a farm with my husband. We raised over 60 chickens, sheep, ducks, geese, and turkeys, and named each and every one of them (and remembered who is who!), and, of course, our parrots, cats, dogs and even a few reptiles.

Aside from animals; reading, writing, coffee, and creating are among my favourite things to fill my days with. One of the best parts of living in British Columbia is the rain. Sitting on the covered porch during a rainstorm staring at the mountains soothes my soul. My happy place is standing by a telescope, watching the stars.

I have served in many roles; a Cemetery Director, a Peace Officer, and a 911 Dispatcher/Operator. Now, I am an End of Life Doula. I feel it is my calling to be a helper, and I seek to companion clients and their loved ones throughout this important, delicate, and transitional time.

What I do

As an End of Life Doula, I will educate, empower, and advocate for my clients and their families. I companion my clients, hold space for their journey, witness their stories, and provide support before, during, and after the death process. I work alongside caregivers and medical professionals to restore the sacredness and human touch needed during this important time. I will create a personalized care plan to tend to my clients dignity, senses, and values while cultivating peace, acceptance and providing emotional comfort.

I will be there to support my client’s loved ones as well; giving respite from bedside vigil, providing resources, comfort, and companionship throughout the entire journey.

I believe end of life care planning should not be left until the last minute; I can assist with Advanced Care Plans that will bring comfort and confidence, knowing that your wishes will be honored.

I will be an objective, dedicated presence to assist with legacy work, respite, sitting vigil, exploring and addressing emotions, things unspoken, and wishes.

I can guide clients through their grief from the death of a loved one, a sudden death, or the death of a pet, with a ritual or ceremony personalized to best support you and honor your loved ones.

I aim to cultivate acceptance, remove fear, and reclaim sacredness, values, and traditions to the end of life experience.
